Terms of Service
Effective: · Version 2026-07-27 · Draft — pending legal review
These terms govern your use of EveryHomestead (from Cross Timbers Homestead), called “EveryHomestead” or “the app” below. By creating an account, clicking “I agree,” or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The service
EveryHomestead is a farm and homestead record-keeping and planning service. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your homestead records are yours
You own and may export, copy, and use the homestead records and other content you enter into the service. You may use your exported records with other software, services, or tools. We process your records only to provide, secure, support, and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
What belongs to EveryHomestead
EveryHomestead, its operator, and its licensors own the app software, interfaces, visual design, documentation, workflows as expressed in the service, plant catalog and other app-authored content, and all other non-user content in the service. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. Third-party content remains owned by its respective owner and may be subject to separate license terms.
Acceptable use and protection of the service
You agree not to, directly or through another person, bot, agent, account, or service:
- break the law, infringe another person’s rights, upload malicious content, or try to access another household’s data;
- use undocumented automated access, scraping, crawling, indexing, or monitoring against the service;
- perform bulk or systematic extraction of app-owned content or data, or circumvent access controls, technical protections, quotas, or rate limits;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, derive source code from, or attempt to discover the app’s underlying non-public systems, except to the limited extent non-waivable law permits;
- use app-owned content, screenshots, interfaces, workflows, outputs, documentation, or catalog content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark, or validate, or to build or market, a competing model, dataset, product, or service;
- use multiple bots, agents, accounts, identities, or intermediaries to evade these terms or a service restriction; or
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service or app-owned content without written permission.
Normal tools and use of your own records
The restrictions above do not prohibit normal use through a web browser, password managers, accessibility or assistive tools, authorized integrations, or ordinary personal automation that we expressly support.
Users may apply AI or other tools to their own exported records, provided that doing so does not extract app-owned content, bypass service controls, or build or support a competing service.
Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Plans, trials, and billing
The app offers a free tier and may offer optional paid features. New accounts may receive a time-limited trial. When a trial ends, the household returns to the free tier; its data stays available and exportable, while Plus tools may become limited.
If paid plans are offered, they are billed through our payment processor on a recurring basis until canceled. You may cancel at any time, with access continuing through the paid period. Except where law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. Prices may change with notice.
Founding-member subscriptions ($49 per year, offered to the first 100 subscribing households) are price-locked for the life of an uninterrupted subscription. Other pricing may change with at least 30 days’ notice.
No professional advice
Plant, animal, agronomic, veterinary, financial, tax, legal, accounting, weather, and other content in the app is general information, not professional advice. Verify important decisions with qualified professionals and official sources.
Animal medical records and withdrawal periods
Withdrawal dates, dosages, and treatment records are records you provide. The app stores what you enter and does not compute, check, or validate withdrawal periods, dosages, or food-safety rules. You are responsible for verifying them with your veterinarian and applicable regulators before consuming or selling animal products.
Weather data
Weather readings, frost indicators, and forecasts may come from your station or third-party sources and can be wrong, stale, or missing. Do not rely on them for safety-critical or crop-critical decisions; check official forecasts and warnings.
Finance and tax features
Finance and ledger features organize records and produce estimates and summaries for review by your tax professional. The app does not file anything for you. Confirm figures, categories, and deductions with a qualified professional.
As-is; no warranties
The app is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or error-free operation. Keep your own copies of anything critical.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, livestock, or crops arising from use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Investigation, suspension, and termination
You may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time. We may investigate suspected misuse and may proportionately limit, suspend, or terminate access for a material violation of these terms or a credible threat to the service or its users.
We will ordinarily give notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond when practical. We may act without prior notice only when reasonably needed to protect the service or its users, preserve evidence, comply with law, or prevent ongoing harm. You may contact us to ask about a restriction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will receive a new effective date and version date, and we may require renewed acceptance before continued use. Non-material clarifications may be posted without a new acceptance request.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
